As is known to all, city renewal mainly relates to the government, enterprises and residents three main body. Although our country’s urban renewal is also a direction along the western countries, but because of the different national conditions, it also shows many differences. Urban renewal in China in three main body and the actual division of labor is: the role of government is the core, planning and guidance; Developers are important participants, under the guidance of the government to the urban development and construction; Residents the right subject, seldom involved, the results of urban renewal is passive to accept. This update pattern has made some achievements, but also to a certain extent promote the development of Chinese cities, has produced a series of urban problems, such as urban planning defects, developers and redundant construction, violent demolition, residents interests deprivation and so on. At the same time, the constant deepening of market economy in our country, the democratic process accelerating, these are serious challenges for urban renewal in China. In the face of these challenges and the development of civil society, the concept of multiple main body participation in urban renewal is becoming the new ideas and new methods to solve these problems. In this background, this paper will study the viewpoints in the multiple main body participation in urban renewal mechanism construction, puts forward the core value idea of this article: urban renewal should cultivate and establish a long-term effective mechanism of main body participation, clear profit distribution in the process of updating, residents as the main body of city should participate in the planning of urban renewal, project construction, evaluation of late in all stages."North Change"(northern urban area of Chengdu old city morphology and productivity layout project) as the biggest old city reconstruction project of Chengdu, lift force of the city construction, and adopt the residents autonomous transformation pattern greatly progressive and scientific. Therefore, as a research subject participation mechanism of typical cases, representative and demonstration.
