In order to determine if the polymer material for consolidation coal and rock in mine (PMFC) will cause harm or even disaster due to excessive heat, when it used in colliery, four kinds of common PMFC and self-made PMFC were used as experimental material. this paper proposes a two-step method to evaluate the safety properties of PMFC.The first step is that using the comparative method of two-temperature points (the maximum reaction temperature and thermal decomposition temperature of the PMFC) to test the safety of the PMFC; Firstly, make a study on the method to test themaximum exothermic temperature of the PMFC; Then, use the thermal analysis technology to test the heat, specific heat, the theoretical maximum exothermic temperature and thermal decomposition temperature of the PMFC; The last, get the conclusion through thermal analysis technology. The results showe that:When the diameter is 60mm, the Tmax is the highest; When the mass is greater than 300g, the Tmax reaches the maximum and keeps balance.The maximum reaction temperature(Tmax) and the theoretical maximum reaction temperature have a big gap, and the Tmax is higher, the gap bigger becomes. Tmax and Td affect that if the PMFC will decompose to gas when it is used in colliery.Based on step One, use Ansys software to run simulations of grouting process. The results showe that:When the edge temperature of PMFC is constant, After a period of time the temperature of the coal seam also gradually turns to be stable; When the grouting diameter of PMFC is constant, With the increase of edge temperature, the temperature of coal seam increases; When the diameter is 50mm, the temperature of coal seam edge reaches its maximum value; When the Tmax is less than 120℃,The highest temperature of coal seam edge falls below 60℃ which falls below the critical temperature of coal. So We believe that the material whose Tmax lower than 120℃ is safe.
