The degree of mechanization in our nation’s fireworks and firecracker enterprises is not high without getting security assurance, mainly operated by workers’ hands. The paper takes 36-molded firework as the target to design and research and develop an automated fuse machine aiming at existing problems encountered in firework production to replace the procedure of 36-molded firework accomplished by hands.The paper puts forward 2 kinds of different design thoughts about automated fuse machine and chooses closing-mold scheme after analyzing and discussion. Subsequently, it designs the construction of fuse machine of 36-molded firework including mold design, the whole machine design, transmission mechanism design, locating device design, drawing mechanism design and cutting fuse design these six parts. Then it introduces briefly the simulated operation part by 3D design software CATIA and makes a video by simulating the main part finally making use of CATIA to finish the 3D design and assembly of components.Next, the control system is designed mainly include pneumatic air route design, procedure thought and safety system design. It designs classical automatic production equipment with pneumatic integration composed of PLC sensor pneumatic component. The common point between PLC and pneumatics is that the most basic and dominate area of them is ordinal logic system, on-off values control, pneumatic output, point control and compound control of two functions.Finally, the paper describes the result of field connection and commissioning and provides relevant operational regulations of this equipment and reference data of automated fuse machine. The result of commissioning demonstrates that this equipment is operated easily, readily acquired and applied by learners and maintained conveniently with strong safety and stability. If the equipment runs with dispensing, it can reduce labor intensity on the premise of guarantying the final quality and improve production efficiency double than before at the same time to meet the design request specified by the manufacturer totally.At present, the equipment has been applied into the production of fireworks. Until now it runs steadily, lows workers’ labor intensity radically, improves production efficiency greatly and reduces enterprise operating cost. It’s a meaningful try of technology reforming traditional production mode with strongly practical prospect.
