This paper developed a set of online marking machine for the hot billet end face, each billet corresponding manufacturer, caster No. melting furnace No. date of production and steel etc. contents constitute the only message number, timely identified in the billet end face, achieve a billet online marking, overcoming the "mixed billets" phenomenon, and provide a basis for quality traceability.This paper first analyzes the research status and development trend at home and abroad of billet marking machine, according to the technical requirements provided by the factory and the actual situation, determine the process flow of marking machine, gives the whole composition and structure diagram of marking machine, and introduces the basic working principle of the arc writing gun.Online marking machine for the hot billet end face includes writing mechanism, spearhead protection mechanism, scraping rust mechanism, main box and gantry five modules, In this paper, the mechanical structure and working principle of each module are described in detailed narrative, construct the structure model of each module by using CAD software, And according to the actual working condition of the machine, and the important parts were researched and analyzed to ensure that they meet the requirements.After the structure design is completed, the main components of the machine is simulated by finite element analysis, including two parts of fluid dynamics simulation and static analysis. Fluid dynamics simulation is based on the theory of computational fluid dynamics, to build a two-dimensional model of writing nozzle using Gambit and import the model into Fluent, Studies on change of the characteristic parameters of Laval nozzle, obtain the velocity distribution graph of particle Jets and writing new arc nozzle, the newly arc writing nozzle and common arc writing nozzle of the spraying effect are compared and analyzed; In the static analysis of long-span gantry, the paper designs four structural forms, and import the three-dimensional model of Pro/Engineer construction into ANSYS Workbench, Through the static analysis, get the best design scheme of the gantry, And improved design on the basis of the structural, which further improve the static characteristics of large-span gantry, In addition to the static analysis of the main box frame, To verify the rationality of the structure design for the main box frame, to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the machine.Online marking machine for the hot billet end face developed by this paper not only can guarantee the marking accuracy rate, mark clear, beautiful character, but also can reduce the amount of labor, raise automation and standardization level of production lines, enhance the market competitiveness of steel manufacturers.
