Underwear is an important part of clothing. The relationship between underwear and people is no longer just relay on the physical properties of fabric. As people pay increasingly attention to the physical and psychological comfort, the comfortable tactility of underwear has been widely concerned. Therefore, the characterization and evaluation of underwear tactility has been systematically studied in this article.In this research, the classification of underwear, commonly used fabrics of underwear, basic performances of underwear and comfort properties of underwear were discussed by inductive classification. The formation mechanisms of fabric prickliness, smoothness, fluffiness, softness, coolness and warmth, moist were discussed. And the factors of fiber trait, yarn and fabric structure, fabric finishing affecting the fabric tactility were analyzed.In this study, 14 kinds of commonly used underwear fabrics were selected from domestic underwear manufacturers as the research objects. The tactile comfort of underwear was evaluated, and the performances of fabric were tested. The influences of fiber properties, fabric density and structure parameters on the properties of fabric were analyzed. And the effects of fabric properties to the fabric tactility were also discussed. Through the analyses of the relationship between underwear tactile comfort and fabric properties, the numerical range of tactile comfortable fabric performance indexes were obtained.In the research, the physiological detection of underwear tactility was preliminarily explored. The physiological reaction of subjects perceived underwear tactility was tested by the electroencephalic response and galvanic skin response. Then the relationship between related physiological indexes and fabric properties was analyzed. And the correlation between related physiological indexes and tactile comfort was also discussed. The results showed that electroencephalic response and galvanic skin response could be used for detecting the tactile response when skin contacting with the fabric. And the related physiological parameters could be used as physiological indexes to measure the comfortable tactile sensation of skin contacting the fabric.In this research, the characterization and evaluation of underwear tactility were systematically studied in terms of the physical, psychological and physiological, which provide scientific bases for design and development of comfortable underwear and performance optimization. At the same time, the results provided a theoretical reference for the further understanding of the physiological mechanism of tactile sensation and perfect the physiological characterization system.
