Band saw is the primary woodworking machinery equipment in the wood processing industry and furniture manufacturing industry, it is mainly used for rough machining, sheet material cutting, semi-finished rough machining and other machining processes. With the development of our country economy and the improvement of people’s living standard, more products need to be curve sawing, however, the traditional way of curve sawing exists poor quality stability, high production costs, low degree of automation and other disadvantages. Therefore, this topic is to design a feed system for saw wheel diameter of 500 mm joinery band saw, and transform it by CNC to meet the design and usage requirements.By analyzing and comparing three kinds of curve sawing, Select the host rotating with X, Y two-way table linear feed motion to complete the curve sawing. According to the curve sawing mode and the overall layout requirements, band saw determine the overall design and the main technical parameters. Using SolidWorks 2012 software make CNC curve band saw all parts three-dimensional modeling and assembly, and prepare for the next simulation.For curve band saw feed rack carried out ANSYS finite element analysis. Through static analysis, the displacement and stress cloud of sports feed rack are obtained, and curve band saw accuracy and rigidity were investigated, in static analysis, there are many regions of small deformation in the feed rack, so the feed rack carried out topology optimization design, through modal analysis, the natural frequencies and mode shapes sports feed rack are obtained, and curve band saw vibration stability were investigated. In order to verify the designed curve band saw can be performed as expected trajectory curve sawing, using ADAMS software to trajectory simulation for its feeding mechanism.On the basis of the complete mechanical design and verify the reasonableness, preliminary design the control system of CNC curve band saw. CNC curve band saw uses PLC control system,by analyzing the control system of CNC curve band saw,complete the statistics of control system resource requirements,the design of electrical schematics,the selection of electrical components etc,and design control system software by the example of once curve sawing cycle.This paper has developed a CNC curve band saw with feed system, it not only provides a good solution for automatic processing workpiece with irregular curve,but also for curve band saw provide a basis to the CNC development.
