Contemporary residential research tradition has entered a stage of multidisciplinaryresearch. Cultural geography combining traditional houses of study, is a combination of tworesearch methods in field research, documenting, systems analysis, drawing geographic atlas,architectural studies conducted on the basis of mutual comparison, data logging and contrast itprovides help researchers study the rational and avoid others, and guesswork. Meanwhile, thecultural geography research and field research studies need traditional dwellings, records andinterviews with working methods coincide, making this approach in the implementation ofresearch has a high feasibility.In this paper, the historical and cultural villages in the region ChaoAn traditional housesas the research object, this paper takes a lot of literature to read and carpet traditional houses offield research to get the information, try on the basis of field research on a unified standard forquantitative data classification, record and organize to build traditional houses and culturalgeography database ChaoAn traditional dwellings database. Finally, on this basis, combinedChaoAn geography, history, humanities data for analysis, the cultural, geographical factorsaffect some core laws ChaoAn Traditional Dwellings in morphology.This article hopes toaccumulate some experience of traditional houses and cultural geography ChaoAn becomepart of the promotion of cultural geography combining architecture research strength.This paper is divided into six parts:(1) Introduction: Introduction research background, research object, purpose andsignificance of the feasibility study.(2) to build the database: Previous studies through access to relevant information andlearn from, to determine the basic data collection program, and the formation of a unifiedrecording method and quantitative criteria to ChaoAn as macro-level historical and culturalvillages and settlements for the meso level, traditional houses for the micro level, the use offield visits, questionnaires, field surveys and other methods to get ChaoAn macro levelhistorical and cultural villages and traditional houses on the micro-level database, providing afoundation for research after research paper.
