In recent years, with the continuous improvement of our country’s automobileindustry level, the competitiveness of the automobile products are growing, theautomobile industry has gradually become a pillar industry of our country. Itsdevelopment level largely on behalf of our country’s industrial development level anddirectly influences the national economy of China. Therefore, enhance the corecompetition of the automobile and its parts are particularly important.As an important part of the automotive, transmission’s performance has directinfluence on its property. In order to ensure the reliability of the transmission, weshould have life test on the transmission, and the transmission can be evaluated andimproved by the test parameters.In this paper, on the basis of studying the domestic and foreign advancedtransmission life test-bed, according to the existing transmission bench test standard,and combined with the actual demand of the enterprise, we have developed a newmeasuring and controlling system of the automotive transmission life test-bed for theenterprise.In this paper, firstly, according to the existing transmission bench test standard,we made an overall scheme of the measuring and controlling system, including theimplementation scheme of its test and control function. Secondly, we made an overallscheme of the hardware on the measuring and controlling system, according to thescheme, we completed the hardware’s selection, and the hardware contains signalconditioning system, oil temperature control system, data acquisition system, PLCand industrial PC. Thirdly, we made an upper and lower machine’s structure,Industrial PC is the upper machine, and we developed a set of software of themeasurement and control system on the upper machine using the virtual instrumenttechnology that based on the software of LabVIEW, this software contains themodules of main interface, test login, personnel management, test parameters, maintest program and data storage. As the control core of the measurement and controlsystem, PLC needs to control the frequency converter and the electro-hydraulicproportional valve in order to control the motor and the hydraulic pressure loadingdevice. In the use of Siemens’ technology PROFIBUS and the software of STEP7, wecompleted the hardware configuration and software design of the control system.Among them, the data communication between industrial PC and PLC are realized by the OPC technology.Finally, through a debugging and testing, we got the accurate test data, provedthe feasibility and reliability of the measurement and control system, and this systemhave met the measurement and control requirements of the parameters such as load,temperature, rotation speed and torque. This system achieved the function of testdata’s record and management, and these data provided reliable data for the research,development and quality evaluation of the transmission products. Besides, theapplication of PROFIBUS in the control system provides a convenient for themultiple test benches’ distributed measurement and control system.
