Research On The Decoration Art And Cultural Characteristics Of Doors And Windows Of Royal Mansion In Shan Xi

Royal mansion is a twins castle in Shan Xi, it is the mansion of the famous prime minister Chen Tingjing. It is a huge building community. The architectural form of Royal mansion collection of Ming and Qing style. The study of decorative arts and cultural characteristics of its doors and windows is of great significance to us for inheriting Chinese traditional culture. At present, there are no people have a deep research on it. In this paper, this gap is determined the topic.Firstly, this paper analyzed the history of the royal residence, described a brief history of the Chen family, and analyzed the reasons of its imperial glory combined with the political, economic and cultural factors. Then the political and academic achievements of Chen Tingjing were described in detail. Based on the analysis of the factors such as the natural geographical environment and social and history culture origin, which summarized the characteristics of the settlement pattern of royal mansion. Secondly, the paper focused on the decorative art form of the doors and windows. Though a catch-all category for classification of its doors and windows and the surrounding decorative component, which summed up the decorative features and style of its doors and windows.Then there was a detail discussion on the decorative art forms of the major decorative components such as partition board, door frame, door pillow stone, screen wall, festoon gate. And summarized the aesthetic characteristics of its doors and windows from four aspects which included artistic conception beauty, visual beauty, beauty of form and artistic conception beauty. In this paper, the second point is the study of the decorative art performance and cultural characteristics of its doors and windows, analyzed respectively from several categories such as the geometric ornamentation, heart combination grain, text decoration, plant grain, animal grain, implements and god-man grain. And for each design subject characteristics, expression form and its cultural connotation has been carried on the detailed analysis. Then there was a deep discussion on the culture characteristic of royal mansion combined with Confucian culture, Confucian and Taoist complementary of thought, religious rites institution and family status.Through the study of the decoration art and cultural characteristics of the doors and windows of royal mansion, proposed the operation principle including the combination of artistry and practicality, harmonious and unified, both surface and essence, moderation, etc, and proposed application method including direct reference, simplify and refining, abstract to refine, exaggeration to refine, decomposition and reconstruction, which be suitable for the doors’and windows’decorative arts in modern design. Analyzed modern interior design and furniture design on the inheritance and development of traditional doors’and windows’ decoration art by using examples. And through my own design practice to verify its scientific nature and rationality, which make a contribution to the development of the traditional doors’ and windows’ cultural and art in modern design.
