Resident Modality is an integrated system of material form and non-material form reflectedby the place of residence which mainly effected by cognition of residents under social systems. Itmainly includes two aspects: resident space modality and resident life modality. This paperattempts to analyze resettlement policies which affect the resident morphological changes ofShanghai Linong aboriginal as the perspective of morphology. Then it tries to completecomprehensive showcases of resident space modality and resident life modality before and afterremoval, as to reveal all the factors interrelated.In this paper, the research subject Linong aboriginal, trying the method of sociology andconducting a lot of research and interviews to collect data in Shanghai. It selected three typicaland representative cases: from Xintiandi area to the new century garden; from Dazhongli area toTaopu No.9village and from Sanjiali and Lujiayan area to Huabin and Huaqin homes. Three mainparts of this paper are comparing those three cases upon. The third chapter describes details ofrelocation compensation policies and interviewed people of each case, so as to reflect the changesof Shanghai Linong update policy. The fourth chapter is the study of changes of aboriginalresident space modality by factors, such as resident space, community environment andsurrounding supporting elements. The fifth chapter is the study of changes of aboriginal residentlife modality. It selects family structure, Linong association, travel commuter and other residentlife modality factors to research and reveal reasons of changes of each case.By summarizing the changes of factors of aboriginal resident modality before and afterremoval of these three cases, and comparing horizontally and vertically. This paper is hoping forputting forward some realistic proposals about relevant policies and design strategy of Shanghaiold zone and Linong updating.
