A Port Engineering Ship refers to an appropriate water craft executing different kinds of construction work. Dredgers and barges are much more widely used in channel dredging and reclamation works at present. Accurate vessels carrying information is necessary to above-mentioned ships during working. However, how to take a real-time and effective monitoring those operating ships within the port area is a problem of the navigation and port administration department. In existent monitoring methods, there are many disadvantages which affect the working efficiency and overall remote supervision. In this paper, a carrying information monitoring terminal of engineering ship is designed according to the actual situation of dredging operation.After studying of different technologies including satellite navigation and positioning technology, BDS/GPS positioning, RTK technology, embedded technology, this paper analyzes the function requirements of the terminal and achieve the hardware development, software development and communication design three parts. The system hardware adopts modulation design, applies BDS/GPS positioning and RTK technology to collect more accurate data, puts processor to good use as the core of data processing, storage, query, and implements wireless communication through GPRS and WIFI. The software is developed under a bare STM32 and the software design comprises of the development of the drivers of supplied UASRT and SD card, data storage for the data in SD card by transplanting FATFS file system, program writing of data processing and transmission according to data formats. Finally, the remote monitoring terminal searches data in SD card by means of GPRS transmission and user-defined protocol.With a good portability and avoiding human interference, the terminal is the “Black box” carrying monitoring information. The test data suggests that the terminal is steady and reliable, indicates that it can accurately complete data acquisition, data processing, data storage and data query, can communicate with the remote terminal and ship equipment respectively through GPRS and WIFI, and achieves the expected effect. The terminal can be carried on the further actual ship application in the future, which has an important significance to improve the quality of dredging engineering supervision and engineering efficiency.
