In the intelligent substation, with the digitalization and network of signal transmission in Intelligent Electronic Device, Association among the virtual terminal devices becomes the main content of intelligent substation secondary design. Currently, the design of virtual terminal in intelligent substation is labor-intensive and error-prone,it is difficult to view the Virtual Terminal file and find differences between versions of the virtual terminal file. The research of key technologies for intelligent substation virtual terminal design has great engineering significance.Firstly, the content and process of intelligent substation configuration has been described, the structure and content of related SCL (Substation Configuration Language) documentation has been analysised, the virtual terminal design concepts and related specifications has been introduced. This part provides a good foundation for program design and software implementation in subsequent chapters.In this paper, the virtual terminal auxiliary generation method based on the templates of SCD (Substation Configuration Description) is proposed, the point is to construct a flow diagram for each device in typical bay, to find the IED senders based on keyword code,to extract virtual links from SCD templates, to generate the similar virtual links for IED and so on. Some key technologies are described, such as The Fast parsing of multiple SCD files, the design of database for SCD templates, The changing of ICD model, the automatic mapping for IED senders in typical bay, the manual rapid association and so on. In order to assist the virtual terminals designing of virtual terminal file in intelligent substation, a kind of auxiliary generation system for virtual terminals has been implemented, the paper gives examples for typical bay design, this method can effectively reduce the workload of the virtual terminal design, improve the efficiency and accuracy of the virtual terminal design.A multi-dimension graphical viewing scheme of virtual terminals in virtual terminal file is designed. Some key technologies are described, such as the data structure construction of the virtual terminal file, the display of graphics items, the graphical interface switching and so on. multi-dimension graphical viewing system of virtual terminals in virtual terminal file has been implemented, Using the graphic displaying technology, the marco-links that are shown in marco main graph. By the clicking operation on the graphical interface, the other subgraphs are displayed, such as the virtual connections between two IEDs, all input and output virtual terminals in IED. The viewing efficiency has been greatly improved.A comparison scheme for virtual terminal file is designed. the virtual terminal file comparer is developed. In order to help designers quickly identify design issues, and promptly correct the error.The differences between the virtual terminal files in devices,virtual Links can be quickly found using the scheme of comparison.
