With the increase in the energy crisis and growing environmental problems, the strategy for sustainable development has attained more and more attention from all walks of life. The importance for implementing the strategy for sustainable development-the development of green building has become a hot topic not only in developed countries but also in developing countries and special emphasis are paid in the construction industry because it is one of the major share holder among the three energy consumption industries.Since the construction industry in our country has started to implement the strategy of sustainable development, green building has become a prospect area to be developed. However, the incremental cost of green building has hindered the rapid pace of progress. If the technical level is not mature enough, the incremental cost is difficult to control. However the choice to select the green building technical scheme of high economic efficiency for evaluation has still remain a question mark and need farther studies. Therefore this paper summaries the classification of green building technology according to the current situation of China’s green building development process; It also analyzes the incremental cost brought by the green building technology and directs economic benefits from the perspective of life cycle; It uses AHP to establish the evaluation index system and carried out research on the calculation formula of both index incremental costs and incremental economic benefits through the cost benefit analysis of the principle of selecting the evaluation index through the assessment of economic cost benefit of green building technical scheme, decision makers have advantages on choosing better green building technical scheme. Finally, this thesis selects a three star green building project in Chengdu as a case study, bases on this case study calculation and analysis has been carried out to check the incremental economic benefit and the incremental cost for green building technology. In the end a detail evaluation results based on the evaluation system has been carried out and the results depicts that the system is feasible and can be used very economically and effectively for green building technology scheme.
