The Schedule Plan And Control Of M Company’s Knuckle Construction Project

For remitting the problems of emission, fuel consumption and so on that is caused by the auto industry development. The auto manufacturers have begun to use aluminum to instead the steel parts to achieve lightweight of automobile. But for producing the aluminum parts which is instead of the steel ones, the cast aluminum enterprises need to build new factory to produce the new parts, so the process can involve the construction, setting up machines, alignment, method designing and trials and so on, it ends until we can achieve mass production. Because the project is so complicated and technical, and involves a lot of majors, and the speed of the car model changing requires that all the parts on the new car must be produced fast enough to fit for the new model changing, so we must discuss how to do the project planning and control the process properly to ensure the duration. It is a puzzle for almost all the cast aluminum enterprises.The article elaborates an aluminum knuckle workshop project which is built by BMW’s secondary supplier---M company. In that, I study and apply the project schedule planning and control, analyze the milestone, the logical subsequence of the work, the evaluation of work-time, WBS, responsibility matrix, critical path and schedule plan and try to optimize them. Meanwhile research the methods how to control the schedule plan, apply the relative knowledge of project management for searching the main point in the project progress.The article carries on analyzing the schedule plan and control of this project to find the problems. Using project management related knowledge to solve these problems and propose some personal ideas to conduct the aluminum auto part projects’developing and construction for aluminum manufacturers in the future.
