MES is a set of execution layer production information management system for manufacturing enterprise. MES system can provide Management module for the enterprise which includes planning and scheduling management, manufacturing data management, production scheduling management, inventory management, quality management, human resource management, work center/ equipment management,procurement management, project cost management, electronic display management, tools management, production process control, the underlying data integration, data integration analysis of upper decomposition etc.MES system and ERP management system provide a reliable, comprehensive, solid management platform for enterprise.Combined with the discrete manufacturing various models and project application background of the object. From the aspect of workshop acquisition controller and PC monitoring software respectively, this paper analyses the system design requirements. By combining the advantages of customization development mode and integration and purchase mode, this paper design the application scheme of workshop that each equipment equips a data acquisition controller and other related equipment which can be increased or reduced, this scheme enhances flexibility and customization of the system. It expounds the universal property of this system from the aspect of structural design and communication protocol design, which is an innovation of the system design. The system uses the RT-Thread operating system and STM32F103ZG chip as the core of the data acquisition controler, from the aspect of hardware design, this paper designed the communication circuit, data acquisition controller input/output circuit. From the aspect of software design, combined workshop application, this paper analysis and optimize the algorithm of the worker data processing, mold processing and the application of LwIP protocol.By using the programmable touch screen technology, this system has changed the previous MES system data collection that information is only collected from the workshop to the top of the case,the workshop staff can feedback the quality data, maintenance data and other management data in each device equipped with a touch screen, and the host computer monitoring software gives query and feedback according to the information of touch screen input data,so as to realize the human-computer interaction of workshop staff and upper management system.Before put into use in the laboratory workshop, through building simulation platform, this system has carried on a long time, uninterrupted testing, including the stability of the main controller, stability and accuracy of the peripheral equipment, the communication and output effect of the monitoring software of the host computer. Through the test and practical application, the system has the advantages of low cost, customization and strong, friendly man-machine interaction, real-time data collection and accurate. With good versatility and customization, the system achieves good popularization among small and medium manufacturing enterprises, and gets the praise from the enterprises.The research work of this paper gets fund from the flowing projects: (1)"Study on the general controller of small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises MES system" in Guangdong Province automation institute director fund in 2014(A201404).(2) Research on "The key technology of hardware plastic industry workshop level management system "of Guangdong Province Academy Youth Science Research Fund in 2014 (qnjj201408).
