Manufacturing execution system(MES)is a real-time information management system, which isoriented to production process of the workshop. Whether the data acquisition function, a basic module ofMES, can collect timely, precise and comprehensive data in the production process, is critical for the MESto play its role in planning, optimal design, and transparent process. The research in this thesis is mainly onQR Code technology and its application in the data acquisition of MES oriented to discrete manufacturing.After an overview of the MES, the overall framework and functional structure, based on discrete MES,is analyzed. Data acquisition, which is critical to other modules of MES, must be pointed out. Based on this,the data acquisition solution of “QR Code technology+touch-screen” is proposed, considered as acomplement and optimization for the existing data acquisition system.Due to its open standard, unique Chinese characters set and efficient representation of Chinesecharacters, QR Code is more suitable for the needs of our application. Through the analysis of structure andencoding process of QR Code symbol, the research focus on the error correction algorithms in the encodingprocess. Based on the polynomial division algorithm program, error-correcting codes is successfullygenerated and validated in a QR Code symbol, which contains an URL.Barcode technology is a set of encoding, printing, identification, data collection, and handling. Basedon the analysis of the integrated demand and overall integrated structure between QR Code technology andMES system, the rule of barcode generation on account of the meaning is established; on the help of VC6.0,developed tool, the hardware program manager is designed, which builds a information bridge between QRCode scanning hardware and MES system, and also integrates with the business process. Through thereal-time database technology, the efficiency of information query and feedback is guaranteed.Taking an enterprise workshop for example, after the data and information elements which need to becollected for MES system are fixed, the specific application and implementation method of QR Codetechnology in system login, execution of work task, the event management and data acquisition ofequipment status etc. of MES system are studied.
