Schedule management is quite important in electric power industries’ project management. Schedule management, investment management and quality management are the key factors of project management. It is an indispensable means to ensure the timely completion of the project, to arrange resources reasonably and to optimize costs controlling. But when it comes to the implementation of projects in in electric power industries, it is difficult to find the relevant theory mapping the demand of them. Therefore we always misunderstand the theory of schedule management and make mistakes in the process of schedule management. Even at the starting of a project, someone will negatively infer that the project would be postponed. So it is a meaningful work that analyzing the problems in schedule management considering the specialty of electric power industries and putting forward optimization scheme and countermeasures for it.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part is introduction, including the research background and significance of schedule management, research status and the thesis framework. The second part is the related works of schedule management,which elaborates the principles of schedule management, the requirements of schedule management, the contents of schedule management and the methods of schedule management. The third part is the analysis of SXSY project schedule management. Taking the SXSY project as example, we depicted the general situation,the management pattern, the problems and the measures in schedule management.Then in the fourth part we identify 9 influence factors in the process of schedule management by ways of KSF(Key Success Factors). Some of them are controllable in the implementation of the project schedule, while others are uncontrollable. Therefore we put forward an optimization program for schedule management in the fifth part.After the optimization to SXSY project schedule management with CPM(Critical Path Method), we proposed the control measures about influence factors, which would ensure the optimization effect.In conclusion, we analysis the SXSY project in detail and find out the key factors by KSF. Based on these findings, we optimize the schedule management with CPM and propose the feasible method for controlling the project schedule. In general, the results are relevant.
