Slow Transportation Planning And Design Research Of Linear City

Due to the interaction between native topography and land use, the traffic volumes of linear city have differences between main axis and perpendicular axis along the urban development, the spindle has a large flow. Therefore, there is a certain contradictory between the limited traffic resources and huge traffic demand. In order to satisfy with the spindle traffic demand, reasonable arrangement of public transport resources can contribute to relieve the traffic congestion. Furthermore, use slow transportation as supplementary to share the spindle flow. This is one of the most viable models for the development of transport in the linear city.As the important part of urban integrated transportation and green transportation, slow transportation have green, low carbon, energy saving, environmental protection and other features. People as the main body of urban activities and slow transportation make whenever slow transportation is an essential travel model of residents’ production and living. Slow transportation environment directly affects the living environment and comfort level, on the one hand, slow transportation promotes the communication between peoples, and on the other hand, it also improves the quality of urban life. Linear city close to the nature is also an advantage to build comfortable slow transportation environment. For this reason, slow transportation adaptability must be considered when making urban planning and designing. The rational join design of slow transportation and public transport will support the sustainable development of urban transportation.This paper focus on the slow transportation system of linear city. First of all, analyze the development and evolution of the domestic and overseas theory about linear city, and summarize the significance of stripe city promotion under the background of green city. Secondly, through the concept and positioning of slow transportation systems, analyzes the development process and experience, find out the point why need to development slow transportation and how to development it because of the increasingly serious traffic problems. Then, use native linear city as a start point to study the slow transportation system and other relative issues. Study the system from applicable conditions, traffic trip structure, trip purpose properties, traffic temporal characters, travel distance and other characters of slow transportation on linear city, find out the basic question and give out the reasonable suggestions. Next, discuss the system development model which based on the research of the TOD mode, and raise some suitable policy about linear city on this basis. Finally analyze the Baoji’s traffic situation and planning design. Meanwhile, draw a general regulation of slow transportation system on linear city, and put forward the corresponding design guidelines according to a new urban design specification.
