Researsh On The Regulatory Planning Of City On The Characteristic Space

Urban characteristic is the soul of the city and plays an important role in the urbancompetitiveness. Recently，the urban characteristic resources have been badly damaged in therapid process of urbanization. With the recognition of urban value, as well as, the rising ofpeople’s living standard,extensive attention has been aroused on the city characteristicresources protection&display and urban characteristics space planning. Though there havebeen a lot of researches and practices on urban comprehensive planning and designing onurban characteristics space, they are hard to be used as main basis of planning implementationmanagement for problems like operability, statutory and other issues in regulatory planningresearch of theses two aspects. This research intends to develop characteristic space methodsresearch from the angle of regulatory planning, The objectives of this paper are to protect anddisplay the urban characteristic resources by means of Statutory planning.In order to test itsmaneuverability, promote its popularization value, provide a reference for relevant technicalspecifications and design guidelines, the research takes the Xiaguan Districtof Nanjing as aempirical researchon characteristic space in regulatory planning.The Key research points includes characteristic space types, constituent elements andregulatory planning methods, etc. This article is developed in six sections. The first sectionmainly defines the concept of characteristic space, discusses the research background, purpose,significance, and elaborates the research methods and framework. The second section is aboutthe theoretical research of characteristic space in regulatory planning. This section alsosummarizes types and elements of characteristics space regulatory planning, as well as itsmethods and related practices via comparing related theories, technical regulations andpractices. The third section is the core of this paper, which puts forward characteristic spaceplanning methods in regulatory planning phase, including its influence factors and planningprinciples, planning content and control elements, as well as, planning methods. The fourthsection is about the investigation and evaluation of characteristic resources in Xiaguan Districtof Nanjing. Through methods and researches on related urban planning, reading literature,questionnaire surveys, expert interviews, investigation on Current Situation andreconnaissance, this paper excavate characteristic resources which can be stand for characteristic space. And on this basis, this paper could be able to analyze and evaluatecharacteristic resources, moreover, to divide the scope of characteristic space. The sixthsection concludes and discusses some future extensions.
