Product Design For Railway Express Freight Under The Requirement Of Total Logistics Service

There has been a great development in the field of logistics with joint progress of social life and market-oriented economy transformation. The concept, technology and mode of logistics are being reformed rapidly. The role of third party Logistics has changed from implementation of single logistics function to the supply of logistics service and value, while the mode and concept of total logistics are becoming mature. However, the social logistics cost is still a little bit high. As its transport capacity was released and upgraded effectively by strengthening the infrastructure and reforming the system and mechanism, railway has possessed the conditions to play the role of the backbone of the Chinese logistics. It is necessary to upgrade and update the railway transportation product while the bulk cargo transport scale showing a tightening trend and the high value-added goods transportation proportion in the freight market keeps rising. High value-added goods logistics demand has the characteristics of small batch, high frequency, and has higher requirements on the timeliness, convenience safety and personalization, therefore it has new requirements of the express freight products design, and has requirements of the total logistics service on the personalized evolution of the services of logistics.In order to deal with the changes of logistics market, it is necessary to further study the design of railway express freight products under the total logistic service. This paper has conducted the research from the following aspects:(1) Through clarifying the meaning both of the total logistics service and railway express freight products, this paper analyzes the impact of the total logistics service on railway express freight products, and puts forward the railway express freight products design idea under the total logistics service.(2) This paper conducts modular decomposition and recombination by using modularization theory for the railway express freight product. The value modularity decomposition can find out the characteristics of customer logistics demand, and the bus modularity recombination can provide platform of scale customization for the products design. Aiming to reach the levels of logistics demand, this paper also conducts serialization design for railway express freight product components, thereby establishing the candidate set for product design.(3) According to the value chain theory, railway express freight products candidate set can be abstracted as a value-added network. Based on network idea basis, the product forming model has been established which can transform problem to the shortest path problem under multiple constraints. At last, the relevant algorithm has been presented through improving the Dijstra shortest path algorithm.(4) As a case, the method to design railway express freight has been used in the sale logistic of a company. And its feasibility has been verified through solving the mode by MATLAB and a comparative analysis of the new product and the company’s current operation scheme.
