This paper summarizes a dedicated controller for crane which based on embedded development and typical applications of this controller on the crane. This article focuses on key performance parameters and the specific application method of the controller.In this paper, the traditional crane for a simple presentation, including the crane classification, power supply for electrical systems, institutional classification, drive mode, and other operations. Meanwhile, relay control principle for the traditional crane is analyzed, focusing on analysis of "single-phase braking" control mode. Based on the merits of the various typical style for crane control system, choose to research and devise dedicated controller. The controller will be applied to crane control system, then verify the reliability of the controller and control method.The reliability of dedicated controller applications in a crane, which can achieve electrical system standardization, modularization, serialization; reduce manufacturing systems and maintenance costs; reduce system failure rate; enhance the performance and maintainability of the system.According to incomplete statistics, the number of industrial bridge and gantry cranes to reach hundreds of thousands of units in the country, the control system are basically oriented to relay logic control circuit, the control circuit is characterized by complex logic, high failure rate, difficult to maintain, control panel cabinet making process more complicated. After application of the controller as discussed herein, the complete system provider can be achieved the control panel cabinet and console of crane modularity, standardization and serialization. This can be controlled the whole manufacturing costs, reduced the time and costs of maintenance.Small size, low cost, electrical system control circuit is simple, low failure rate, repair quickly, these features of controller meet the needs of the current situation of our country. The crane based on the controller is successful application to the Anshan Iron and Steel Company in December2013.This article refers to the crane is industrial-grade bridge cranes, gantry cranes, tower cranes, portal cranes, which in GB/T20776standard. The dedicated controller of crane are mainly applied to factories which is industrial grade crane.
