With the development of our social economy, people’s demand for electric power continues to ascend, so as their requirement of power supply quality. As a power supply enterprise, only to strengthen the construction of power grid constantly, improve power grid structure, and ensure the power grid’s quality, can we make our costumers satisfied. To achieve this goal, in addition to the new substation, we can expand and renovate the substation existing. By itself, the reconstruction of substation is a project, so the knowledge of project management theory can be applied to such projects.The common characters of power grid reconstruction project are its short construction period, heavy task, wide working scope, and high quality requirements. And the greatest advantage of project management is integrating various resources, which makes resource optimization configuration. With the goal of schedule, cost, and quality, project management has a particular obvious advantage in optimization the project schedule, reducing the cost and improving the quality, in which optimized the project schedule is easy to spot.Based on the theory of project management, this paper takes 110 kV Yangcheng substation’s integrated automation renovation project as the research object. In the whole process of substation’s integrated automation reconstruction, the theoretical knowledge of project management has applied in this thesis. Firstly, this thesis has introduced the meaning and background of substation’s integrated automation, so as the domestic and foreign research dynamic of project management. It also describes the development of substation’s integrated automation. In the knowledge of project management theory, it describes the project schedule management concept, the influencing factors of progress, schedule management’s main content, and the types of project schedule management. It focuses on the critical path method. Secondly, it has introduced the concept and characteristics of substation’s integrated automation. This thesis introduces why substations should be integrated automation renovated, and introduces the details of Yangcheng substation reconstruction project.It analysis the schedule problems which have existed in substation reconstruction in the past. With the combination of the 110 kV Yangcheng substation project’s Network-planning diagrams, it finds out critical path, and directs schedule under drawing Gantt chart. Studies have shown that the application of the theoretical knowledge of project management in substation’s renovation project can control project process, ensure the quality, and enhance safety management in real.
