With the rapid development of urban construction in our country, in order to adapt tothe water reform of water science philosophy proposed by the government, in this paper, a remote intelligent water meter based on MSP430 microcontroller is designed to realize the function of field data collection and remote data operation. Combined with the intelligent water meter monitoring system,it has realized the real-time transmission of intelligent water meter data.This paper is based on MSP430 microcomputer as the research object, which has studied with MSP430F6721 as the core processor, and GPRS wireless connection and integration between modules.Firstly the paper discusses the status of research domestic and abroad about the intelligent water meter, and a brief description of the research for the current domestic situation and development of remote intelligent water meter is given in this paper. Then briefly introduced the characteristics and selection of the hardware equipment of remote intelligent water meter based on MSP430 single chip microcomputer as the core is given in this paper. Then the hardware design and software design of remote intelligent water meter based on MSP430 is given, including the circuit of each peripheral module software design drawing and interrupt handling procedures for each peripheral module. Combining hardware with software method, the paper describes the current development situation of water pricing ladder and MSP430 microcontroller as the core of the remote intelligent water meter, implementation method and means of software and hardware in the price ladder is also given in this paper. Finally, this paper carries on the simple discussion and explanation of work which has completed and prospects for future.
