Modern time witnessed the rapid development in the field of electronic devices using DC as terminal output (IT devices, air-conditioners and refrigeration plants using frequency converting motors). In such situation, studies on the distribution network of DC in medium-low voltage have gain popularity around the globe, while it should be noted that in such an early stage of relative study, comprehensive evaluations and certain criteria of such DC distribution networks are seldom reported.With comprehensive viewpoint and on the basis of index system of reliability and economy, author of this paper establishes a novel comprehensive evaluation system for DC and AC distribution systems based on hierarchy structure, concluded with properties of DC system and load. In this paper,5/5-9/1 proportional criterion matrix replaces previous 1-9 matrix. In addition, due to the inadequate integrity of 5/5-9/1 matrix, inconsistency correction method applied to 5/5-9/1 matrix is proposed, and then an enhanced calculation is introduced to better evaluate the weights of certain networks with more efficiency. With all these principles at disposal, a comprehensive evaluation for DC and AC distribution systems based on Improved Analytic Hierarchy Process is thus proposed. Finally, the medium voltage distribution system in a certain city in IEEE network serves as a prime example to support the proposed evaluation, with comparison against traditional counterparts and guidelines for future development.
