Remote wireless data transmission of heat meters is one of the hotspots of meter reading technology currently. By comparison and analysis of the domestic and foreign meter reading technology, this paper has designed the remote heat meters reading program based on M-BUS bus technology, RS485 bus technology, GPRS/ GSM communication technology and Ethernet transmission technology based on TCP/IP protocol.The Remote meter reading system which has been designed in this paper mainly includes the design of the M-BUS concentrator and the wireless repeater. As a front-end of heat meters data acquisition, M-BUS concentrator communicates with heat meters through M-BUS bus. The design of wireless repeater is divided into three parts:the design of wireless repeater core board, the design of GPRS/GSM module, the design of W5100 Ethernet module. As the core processing part of wireless repeater, the core board is responsible for data reception, processing, and transmitting, at the same time driving GPRS/GSM module and W5100 Ethernet module, to realize wireless data transmission. There is two modes, namely GPRS/ GSM and Ethernet, which are used in uplink channel for transferring data to the data management center. This design can suit different transport requirements.The paper chooses STM32F107VCT6 as the main processing unit of M-BUS concentrator and wireless repeater. With the preparation of the underlying driver, it can realize functional requirements of M-BUS concentrator and wireless repeater, including data acquisition and wireless transmission. The main processor has used a low-power operating mode and reduced the power consumption of the system; the use of TCP/IP transport protocol can ensure the stability of data transmission.The system which has been designed through some measurements has achieved functional requirements of remote wireless heat meter reading.
