In China, the theory of project management in hydropower station construction started late, project management mode and method are still in the development stage, and because hydropower station equipments installation has various processes, involves professional widely, the relationship of the adjacent section is complex, risk factors are uncertain and change greatly, the hydropower station puts forward a very high request for the project schedule management. Considering the impact of downside risks and resource investment and other factors ample, we use witch channel to compile a reasonable, feasible and operability plan, to reduce the probability of the progress deviation. How to realize the initiative management of the project progress, how to manage the quality, safety, environmental protection, progress investment and other factors, completely eradicate the quality and safety accidents, reduce resource consumption and environmental pollution, guarantee the project advancement continuously and safely, how to manage the progress of large hydropower station is a good subject for the progress management workers.According to the national energy development plan, Chinese Hydropower Enterprises obtain unprecedented development opportunity, gaining favorable political and economic environment. But equipments supply, social environment, investment risk and other factors affect the construction more and more. So in the construction process, making a scientific, reasonable and feasible construction schedule is important and developing and implementing a reasonable management model, regulation and effective measures is more important to ensure the steady progress of the project.In the installation of Longkaikou hydropower station, project management is based on construction unit’s macro-control, assistant of construction supervision in engineering implementation process, the generator installation path as the main controlled line, driving resource investment, equipment manufacturing, material supply and safety quality progress schedule management with construction plan. Before the construction and the construction of advance planning, combining with project experience, administration demonstrate the characteristics of the project fully, analysis the schedule risks, demonstrate and formulate a response measures. In the process of plan implementation, with pre controlling and process monitoring, all levels of management control the work rhythm, tracking, analyzing and forecasting progress, and constantly arrange progress factor to the best allocation, to implement plan steadily.By refining the WBS to procedure, using the critical path method principle, using research and analysis method, starting with analyzing the planed scheduled, this paper analyzes and summarizes mainly used correction and controlling measures to various risks, sudden factors and progress deviations, during making the plan or implementing the plan. And this paper analyzes the improved points of management, for the progress management workers to learn from experience, make good risk response, save more resources and outlay, achieve engineering objectives successfully.
