Tactical Researches Under The Goal Of Support The Elderly To Share Outdoor Leisure Spaces In The College Residential Area With Multi-Generation

Nowadays, the increasingly serious aging problems with the background of aging, the ratio of retired staff for the residential areas in universities has increased year by year. Residential areas in universities have characteristics as batter education and public service facilities and simple social network structure. As we know, for daily activities, outdoor leisure spaces are the most closely places to retired teachers and staffs and it’s one of the highest efficiency activity places. But as time passed, the university community outdoor recreational space presents problems as disrepair, low quality, which unable to satisfy the demands of leisure activities of different population in the residential area. So it is becomes a necessary work that how to provide more and better outdoor leisure activities to the knowledgeable and to create an outdoor leisure space which "can be shared by multi generations".The research selects four university’s residential areas in Xi’an as the object. First, the author analyzed the results of the investigation to judge the structure of the leisure residential areas in universities; further defined the definition and classification of different generations; summarized the importance of outdoor leisure spaces to the main population in the four universities; analyzed the outdoor activities and characteristics of the educated elderly population and other generations.Second, illustrated the development of College residential areas, according to the actual investigation, the author selected four universities as research objects. With field research, the author investigated the utilization status of outdoor leisure space in different populations in four universities from the location, survey, outdoor leisure activity space, node space and more important status of intergenerational sharing situation to summarize its satisfaction and needs on outdoor leisure space usage. The author selected 19 outdoor activity spaces to observe and analyze the outdoor activity types, times and characteristics of different generations to summarize the people activity and spatial characteristics of multi generation sharing. Then summarizing and classifying the outdoor activities space and the present situation of the problem college residential area with multi-generation.Finally, main population of the outdoor activities and characteristics are illustrated to bring out the general design principles and strategies of The Elderly Sharing Outdoor Leisure Spaces in the College Residential Area with Multi-generation and the two aspects as function area and design elements are taken into consideration.The author seeks rules or patterns to provide strategies under the goal of how to support the outdoor leisure spaces for multi-generation, to make the outdoor leisure places interesting, comfortable and safe, to create the appropriate leisure spaces that could be shared by generations, and look forward to provide some reference to the future designers in similar topics.
