The Design Of Smart Home System Based On ZigBee Technology

With the rapid development of economy, the quality of people’s daily life has been improved notably. On the one hand, the acceleration of the infrastructure for residents leads to a substantial increase of the amount of ammeters. On the other hand, we have entered the era of IOT(Internet of things) by the popularity of information technology and automation. These two aspects of factors urge people to find a better way to manage the energy. The existing ammeter reading method has many disadvantages such as high cost, low efficiency, etc. In case of that, a new smart ammeter reading method has been proposed in the text. A kind of smart ammeter reading system has been designed based on Zig Bee and GPRS. In this system, Zig Bee is applied in local network while the GPRS is applied in wide area network. The system has many advantages such as low cost, low consumption, self-adaptive, good application, easy maintenance, etc.The whole system consists of a regional concentrator, routers and data acquisition modules. The regional concentrator is the core module of the system which is integrated by many modules such as Zig Bee communication module, GPRS communication module, CPU and etc. The concentrator communicates the ammeter reading center by GPRS on the one hand, it communicates the whole local area network on the other hand by Zig Bee. In addition, the concentrator is responsible for the formation and maintenance of the LAN. Router module is a Zig Bee communication module, which is responsible for expanding networks. A data acquisition module consists of Zig Bee communication module and a ammeter node, which is responsible for the acquisition and transmission of data.A lot of tests have been done for the smart ammeter reading system. The test results show the system can accomplish the data acquisition and transmission accurately, quickly. In addition, the system has good application prospect with good communication quality and strong anti-interference ability.
