Taking Conghua as an example to analyze the spatial distribution and evolution of rural residential land use, to understand and summarize the characteristics of rural residential layout in Conghua from a dynamic perspective. have important practical significance to the further understanding of urban and rural issues in Guangzhou and Conghua.This paper takes Conghua as an example and are based on The Land use planning in Conghua District of Guangzhou(2010-2020), survey data and historical data. The spatial distribution characteristics of rural residential land in Conghua district and the layout optimization are studied, The main conclusions are: The evolution of settlement space in Conghua can be divided into four stages: the embryonic period, the laying period, the adjustment period and the transition period; Terrain factor is the basic factor that affects the layout of rural residential area, the layout of rural residential area is negatively correlated with the height and the slope value. The spatial layout of residential space is characterized by linear layout, the spatial distribution of rural residential land is negatively related to the river and the traffic buffer distance. From natural factors, environmental factors and social factors, the three aspects of the spatial distribution of rural settlements in rural areas of Conghua, the spatial distribution of rural residential area in Conghua district was evaluated by AHP. Finally, from the two levels of village and rural residents, the layout of rural settlements in Conghua district is put forward.
