In recent years, China’s power industry showing rapid development momentum,network and other computer technology or communications technology emerged towards sustainable development of substation automation systems into practical period. Voltage and power exchanges are completed in the substation, the main structure of the power transformer substation and some other power distribution equipment. Substation secondary equipment determines whether it is safe and reliable operation, safe and reliable operation it will play an important role in our country’s various types of industrial and mining enterprises、hospitals at all levels、national defense and transportation and other aspects. At present, many parts of the substation management or simply rely on artificial management, is not able to meet the electricity demand management, and waste a lot of manpower and material resources to manage the substation, effectiveness and efficiency are extremely low. In order to effectively alleviate the current status of the substation management, to meet the needs of the times, the need for some backward substation management improvements, into the intelligence field,improve management efficiency and safety performance.The main purpose of this paper is to develop an area of Guangdong substation design a substation automation management system. This paper first outlines the background and significance of the subject, systematically sort out the basic theory of substation automation,and based on the technical requirements of a substation in Guangdong Province in the power supply network and the current management situation to design integrated substation automation system. Detailed analysis of the role of each hardware unit, working principle and function parameter settings;The design of the system software interface, the data connection,the graph report forms to save the analysis and so on to make the detailed discussion;Finally the black box testing method is used to carry out the whole debugging of the whole substation integrated automation system. Debugging results are correct, can be put into use. By designing and commissioning of the system, will greatly improve the quality of energy, make sure it is secure and reliable electricity, ultimately, improve the automation of supply, ensure the safety of the production, not only to change the current status of management in the region,but also to enhance efficiency and service performance.
