As a significant part of smart grid, power secondary system is the foundation of the united data platform of smart grid due to the fact that power secondary system not only aims to share information by means of network transmission through the business information flow between the master station and the sub-station, but also conducts some important business such as telecontrol of power grid, protection, measurement and online motoring. Nevertheless, there are such serious problems in power secondary system as redundant types of tasks, heavy resource waste and low intelligent level, which can be seen through the inconformity of data sampling transmission, a lack of sharing amongst numerous data and so on. The main cause of aforementioned problems is that there is not thorough research about power secondary system, which means the business information flow remains to be described in detail. It is, thus, rather essential to further investigate the business information flow of power secondary system. This thesis has concentrated on the business information flow between the master station and the sub-station, explored characteristics of various business information flow and established corresponding simulation models so as to conduct a quantitative analysis of the information flow, thus providing reference for optimization of a variety of data, integration of different businesses and evaluation of performances in the power secondary system. This thesis has at the very beginning presented the framework and the major business of power secondary system, summarizing the business content and the communication protocol of telecontrol system, relay protection information system and wide area measurement system in the power secondary system respectively. The models about the characteristics of information flow of the three typical systems and the interaction model between the master station and the sub-station have therefore been built. In addition, it has also analyzed the electric power dispatching data network which transmits information flow, including the structure of the dispatching data network, the network mode, the safety protection model and the access modes between the master station and the sub-station.Secondly, this thesis has put forward the modeling method of power secondary system based on OPNET, developing significant protocol models such as IEC 60870-5-103, IEC 60870-5-104, IEEE 1344, and key model equipments including switches, routers, firewalls, servers and clients, and scheduling control strategy models consisting of the routing control, isolation and encryption, virtual private networks. It has also introduced in detail how to establish the information flow simulation platform between the master station and sub-station of power secondary system through network scenes, business modeling, selection of physical equipments, setting of simulation parameters, and collections and manifestation of simulation results.Last but not least, this thesis has established a simulation platform of power secondary system in certain region on the basis of the aforementioned modeling methods and developed model. This simulation platform can realize accurate simulation of business information flow in secondary power system, which is of great significance for the quantitative analysis and research of the business information flow between the master station and the sub-station. This thesis has verified the feasibility and practicability of its simulation approaches by simulating three typical systems through simulation platform. Not only has this thesis laid a solid foundation but also provided references for further research on the operation information flow of power between the master station and the sub-station in secondary system.
