Application Research Of ERP In Valve Manufacturing

Our manufacturing industry has developed rapidly recently, and it will still play an important role in our Socio-economic development in 21 st century. But at present, the domestic manufacturing profit is not very high, and the competitiveness is not so strong. Since the enterprise competition is becoming fiercer and fiercer, valve manufacturing enterprises have to adapt to the demand and change of market, produce products of market competitive advantages with the fastest speed, best quality and lowest cost to finally survive the competition. In order to meet such requirements, valve manufacturing enterprises have to speed up the development through the modification of information technology. Enterprise resource Planning(hereinafter referred to as ERP) technology takes an important position in Enterprise informationization, and its outstanding performance in enhancing Enterprise competitiveness makes more and more valve manufacturing enterprises begin to implement ERP.Based on the reality of a valve manufacturing enterprise(hereinafter referred to as F enterprise), this paper analyzes the current situation of valve industry, the main influential factors of valve manufacturing enterprises implementing ERP and gives the corresponding measures from the perspective of F enterprise informationization. This paper has given certain description on the concept of enterprise resource planning(ERP), system structure, and function module. The concept, classification, structure and application in ERP system of Bill of Material(BOM) are deeply discussed in the paper; besides, the key data material, material coding method and principle of Bill of Material(BOM) are also discussed here. BOM, as a bridge between PDM and ERP system, analyzes the building process of BOM basic data with the example of F enterprise ERP implementation, and the significance of BOM in ERP system.The paper points out several factors worth attention in valve manufacturing enterprises successful ERP implementation: solid accurate data base; explicit goal of project implementation; personnel involved in project implementation and their constant training; the correct understanding of ERP in which the implementation of ERP is a long-term and gradual process. Eventually, through the example analysis of F enterprise, the paper illustrates the importance of building basic data in the process of ERP implementation, which fully embodies the combination of theory and practice.
