The formation of the corporate culture is inseparably connected with the spirit ofthe time. After1949, with the reform and opening up in1978as the cutting-off point,China’s corporate culture and the spirit of the time changed a lot. Before1978, underthe specific background at that time, the social value was unified, idealized andspiritualized and thinks highly of collectivism. Accordingly, the corporate culturemainly focused on the overall interests and made use of the political ideal and spirit tostimulate the employees. After1978, along with the establishment and developmentof the market economic system, Chinese values became more diversified, realistic andpaid attention to individuals. As a result, the corporate culture also became morediversified, attached great importance to individuals’ interests and needs.Through the comparison of the corporate culture and the social value before andafter1978, we can see that the corporate culture is deeply affected by the social value.The corporate culture changes along with the social value and should be properlyahead of it in order to guide its development direction. On the one hand, the corporateculture should pay more attention to the human nature and coordinate with people’svalue. On the other hand, outstanding corporate culture can promote thecomprehensive development of the staffs and elevate the morality level of the society.Meanwhile, the transition of China’s corporate culture and the spirit of the time alsoreflect the change of the understanding of human nature in China. Personal value andstatus is treated correctly nowadays. We should adhere to the people-orientedprinciple and encourage people’s integrated development in the socialist constructionwork in future.
