In recent years, our country urbanization level enhancesunceasingly, the urbanization rate reached53.7%in2013,but the eastern, central and western region urbanizationlevel is extremely remarkable gap, speed up theconstruction of urbanization in western region are crucial tothe future of the development of the urbanization in China.And according to the actual situation in western China, thedevelopment of small towns development than big citiesmore realistic, more help to promote the construction ofurbanization in the western region and to solve the "SANnong" problems. Therefore, it is necessary for small townsdevelopment in western China road to make the specialsystem research.In this paper, by analyzing the "small town" and "bigcities" debate of the two urban development way, pointsout that the development of small towns is more conform tothe western region also makes more sense to reality. Thenby mathematical and comparative analysis, comparison ofeastern, central and western region of small townsdevelopment present situation, analyzes a series ofquestions in the process of developing the western regionof small towns. Then through the literature research andinductive analysis, combing early Germany and China’sYangtze river delta, the pearl river delta region of smalltowns development trajectory, summarize the successfulexperience of the development of small towns. Regional development finally, draw lessons from successfulexperience of the western region is given the developmentcountermeasure of all kinds of small towns. Points outthat the development of small towns to promoteurbanization in western region, pull the local investmentand solve the problem of "agriculture, rural areas andfarmers" has important significance.The third part is the analysis of eastern, central andwestern region of small towns construction situation,summarized the problems existing in the development ofsmall towns in western China, points out that the smalltown development in western China for a long time lag isrooted in the lack of industry support,The fourth part combed in Germany and China’sYangtze river delta, the pearl river delta region of the earlysmall towns development trajectory, summarizes thesuccessful experience of the development of small towns, points out that the industry support is the key to the successof these areas of small towns development.The fifth part points out that the western region of smallcities and towns like successful region to foster their ownindustry support, but not a copy of Yangtze river delta, thepearl river delta region, clear support is pointed out that theconcrete of different types of small towns developmentpath.
