A Study On The Regional Difference And Mechanism Of Industrial Development In Jiangsu Province

Regional economy development more depends on the level of industry structure, more specifically depending on whether it is advanced or not. with the establishment and improvement of market economy system, the process of regional integration speeds up, it results in that regions in contiguity interacts are frequently mutually influencing and interacting. This will have significantly effect on the direction and adjustment strategy of regional economy development. since the exploratory spatial analysis techniques are proposed, it is widely used to detecting the spatial distribution and spatial structure of social economy phenomena. Hence, this paper takes the county administrative unit as the case in Jiangsu Province, by utilizing the spatial analysis method to study the spatial pattern of industry development level.This paper characterizes the ratio of secondary and tertiary output value to GDP as the industrial structure development level, combing the method of traditional statistical analysis and exploratory spatial analysis technique, focuses on the exploration and explanation of the wholly spatial pattern and its genetic mechanism of industrial development level since1978. the total study case are summed up to63county administrative unit in Jiangsu Province. There are total six chapters in this paper. Firstly, the background as to why to proceed the research is explained in the first chapter; secondly, the research progress and related theory summary at home and abroad are described in the second chapter, also the research goal and object are introduced. Then, the third chapter first and foremost uses the GINI method to analyze the whole difference and variation of industrial development level in Jiangsu Province since1978. Subsequently, utilizing the method of Mann-Kendall to finding the mutation point of the time sequence of GINI value from1978to2011, so the research stage is decided. Next, from the time-space scale to probe the temporal and spatial convergence of industrial development of63administrative units by integrating traditional Markov chain and spatial Markov chain, so the mutual influence and interaction in space is clearly illustrated. by adopting exploratory spatial analysis techniques comprehensively, from the aspects of global autocorrelation, local autocorrelation and cold-hot spots to analyze the industrial development level. hence, the spatial relevance, pattern and interaction are clearly presented, besides, the global spatial differentiation phenomenon is explained with the aid of spatial variation function. Given the existing spatial effect of industrial development level in regions, The fifth chapter specifically interprets the reason of this spatial pattern in three time nodes by means of geographically weighted regression model. Based on the above spatial pattern and genetic mechanism analysis, the sixth chapter provides some suggestions and countermeasures to enhance the regional industrial development level, expecting to achieve the well interactive industrial development level situation between regions. The seventh chapter summaries the main conclusions and points out the shortcomings and the following research direction in future.
