With the aggravation of the market competition, the traditional management model has been not meet the development requirements of modern construction enterprises. To manage better the construction projects and improve enterprise performance, construction enterprises need to solve the problem. The construction project is the core form organization structure of the project team management,which can meet the requirements of the development of modern construction enterprises, the importance of project management gradually increases. In project management, the project manager is the core of project management in construction enterprises, and is the only point, and plays an important role in the success of projects. Guide to the project management knowledge system (Project Management Body of Knowledge) and the project manager competency development framework (Project Manager Competency Development Framework)of American Project Management Institute prepared.on the basis of previous research,the smooth and efficient completion of key construction projects are qualified project manager, and this paper constructs the competency model of construction enterprise’ project manager.To be able to effectively study the competence of the project manager in the construction enterprises, In learning and drawing lessons from competence theory and practice on the basis of experience in domestic and international, this paper has collected thirty competence factors of the project manager in construction enterprises through literature analysis and behavioral event interview, The last formal questionnaire includes twenty-nine competence factors through the investigation. The objects of questionnaire survey are the staffs in construction enterprises of Shandong. The data from the questionnaire survey is studied through descriptive statistical analysis and factor analysis. At last, this paper gets five public factors and they are explained and named to set up the competence model of project manager in construction enterprises, this model includes:Leadership and management ability, occupation skills, interpersonal communication skills, personal charm and character and values. On the basis of the model, this paper briefly explores the countermeasures of selection and training Yunnan’s construction enterprises. in the current, the project manager, hoping to provide some references to select and train project managers.
