In order to study the effect of additives and concentrations of different oat varieties, twoexperiments were arranged in this study. Experiment one was conducted to studythe effect of different additives and concentrations on oat silage. Experiment one: Danceras material was used for silage in milk stage, and four kinds of additives respectivelyat different concentration were used. They were lactobacillus (0mg/kg,1mg/kg,5mg/kg,10mg/kg), formic acid (0ml/kg,1ml/kg,5ml/kg,10ml/kg), sucrose (0%,1%,2%,4%)and cellulose (0mg/kg,50mg/kg,100mg/kg,150mg/kg). The other experimentchose Dancer, Baiyan6and Shadow as materials then added different additives. Theadditives were lactobacillus (5mg/kg), formic acid (5ml/kg), sucrose (2%), cellulose(100mg/kg). The materials were ensiled at room temperature and opened60days later. Thefermentation quality and the chemical composition were analyzed. Results showed that:1. It had a positive impact on Dancer silage with four kinds of additives. Consideringnutritional value index(crude protein, ether extract and crude fiber) When cellulase wereapplied at50mg/kg, the oats silage were excellent; Considering silage quality indexes of pHvalue, AN/TN, soluble sugar content and lactic acid content, sucrose at2%level was the bestconcentration.2. The best concentration of different additives were that: lactobacillus (5mg/kg),formic acid (5ml/kg), sucrose (2%) and the influence on silage quality have no closeconnection with concentration when added cellulase.3. The best oat variety was Baiyan6in three varieties because of the high nutritionalvalue and good fermentation quality. So Baiyan6was the appropriate variety to be ensiledamong Dancer, Baiyan6and Shadow.4. Four kinds of additives (lactobacillus, formic acid, sucrose, cellulaseļ¼‰ for oats silagehad different effects. In terms of improving crude protein content, lactobacillus was the bestadditive; Sucrose can reduce crude fiber content and cellulase can increase the ether extractand ash content. Both lactobacillus and sucrose can reduce the pH value and AN/TN value, they also can improve lactic acid content. Therefore, when choosing additive for oat silage, lactobacillus and sucrose are the better choice.
