ObjectiveTo early intervene and prevent infusion phlebitis and compare the curative effect of western medicine, Chinese traditional medicine and integrated Chinese and western medicine on early prevention and treatment of infusion phlebitis through3methods, i.e. external application of50%magnesium sulfate and dexamethasone mixed solution, external application of Sanhuang Ointment, external application of50%magnesium sulfate and dexamethasone mixed solution combining with Sanhuang Ointment on alternate days.MethodNavelbine-induced phlebitis model on rabbit ear was established, and30experimental rabbits were divided into5groups by random number table:normal ones as group A, model ones as group B, those intervened with50%magnesium sulfate and dexamethasone mixed solution as group C, those intervened with Sanhuang Ointment as group D, those intervened with50%magnesium sulfate and dexamethasone mixed solution combining with Sanhuang Ointment on alternate days as group E. All the groups were observed for96hours on the occurrence of phlebitis, and venous blood was collected96h after Navelbine injection to test Creactive protein (CRP). Local veins and surrounding tissues were obtained for pathological section and HE dyeing, and pathological damage degree of the veins and surrounding tissues was analyzed and assessed.Result1. Grading result:group B had a highest occurrence rate of phlebitis. While group D and E had a low occurrence rate, and their difference comparing with group B had statistical significance (P<0.05);2. CRP result:group B had a relatively high CRP, the difference comparing with group A, D, E had statistical significance(P<0.05); comparing with group C, group A, D, E had a lower CRP value and the difference had a statistical significance(P<0.05);3. HE dyeing result:thrombus organization and endotheliosis were observed in B, thrombogenesis was observed in C, endotheliosis was observed in D, fibrin exudation was observed in E.Conclusion1.Regrading to early intervention effect on phlebitis,50%magnesium sulfate and dexamethasone mixed solution combining with Sanhuang Ointment on alternate days and pure Sanghuang Ointment are better than50%magnesium sulfate and dexamethasone mixed solution.2. Early intervention via integrated western and Chinese traditional medicine and Chinese traditional medicine have a good preventive and treated effect on infusion phlebitis.3. External application of50%magnesium sulfate and dexamethasone mixed solution on early stage doesn’t have an obvious preventive and treated effect on infusion phlebitis.
