Objective:we raised this research to explore the feature of dynamic blood pressure in hypertension patients accompanied with benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) more 80 years, and to discuss the relationship of dynamic blood pressure parameters and international prostate symptom score(IPSS), which could provide clinically guidance in the treatment of hypertension patients accompanied with benign prostatic hyperplasia patients. Methods : we recruited 79 old males more than 80 years with hypertension accompanied with benign prostatic hyperplasia who stayed in our hospital during January 2014 to December 2015. All subjects performed prostate ultra-sonography and their IPSS were evaluated by questionnaires. Dynamic blood pressures were recorded by non-invasive automatic blood pressure measurement syste(ABPMS). Patients were divided into mild, moderate and severe groups according to IPSS. We compared their prostate volumes(PV) and dynamic blood pressure parameters. Results:there were statistically significant differences among the three groups in 24 hour systolic blood pressure(sBP) and daytime sBP, with the results of severe group > moderate group > mild group. IPSS had a positive correlation with them. However, diastolic blood pressure(dBP) showed no significant difference among the three groups and had no statistical correlation with IPSS. There were statistically significant differences among the three groups in pulse pressure(PP), with the results of severe group > moderate group > mild group. PP had a positive correlation with IPSS. A greatly higher ratio of dipper type blood pressure rhythm(nighttime blood pressure drop rate less than 10%) was found in severe group than in moderate and mild groups. Nighttime blood pressure drop rate was negatively correlated with IPSS.Conclusion : IPSS was positively correlated with sBP and PP, but negatively correlated with nighttime blood pressure drop rate in hypertension patients accompanied with benign prostatic hyperplasia.
