Yangjiabu Woodcut New Year Paintings Of The Visual Language In Weifang Characteristics Of Commodity Packaging Design Applied Research

Weifang, located in the central of Shandong Peninsula, is a provincial-level famous historical and cultural city with abundant folk culture tourism resources. Among the numerous folk custom cultures of Weifang, the Yangjiabu woodcut New Year painting occupies an important position. The Yangjiabu woodcut New Year painting has unique artistic characteristics which becomes one of the four famous China’s woodcut New Year paintings. In recent years, The tourism industry of Weifang has gained rapid development. However, the development of the packing design of featured item is relatively slow, which is unable to meet the growing demand for consumption. So, from the point of design view, the idea of combining the Yangjiabu woodcut New Year painting with the local featured item packaging design is presented in this paper to make the featured item having new times feature and give prominence to the regional characteristics of Weifang featured items packing.Firstly, based on the field work and the visual language feature analysis of the Yangjiabu woodcut New Year painting, the ornamental and emblematic characteristics of the Yangjiabu woodcut New Year painting were analyzed and sorted. Then, the existed problems of current featured item packing design of Weifang were presented by the investigation of current market situation. At the same time, this paper also presents the think and study of author’s with the development direction of packaging design proposed. Thirdly, the exact way of the application of the visual language feature of the Yangjiabu woodcut New Year painting was analyzed in this paper. Finally, by the combination of theoretical study and example, the design view for the Yangjiabu woodcut New Year painting was used in practice to prove the feasibility of these views proposed in this paper.
