Translation Report On The Application Of Machine Translation And Post-editing On EST Translation

The21st century is the time for the high-speed development of informationizationwith the increasing need for translation. The computational technology for translation isalso developing fast with more and more Machine Translation (MT) andComputer-aided Translation (CAT) products. However, because of the weaknesses ofMachine translation, we cannot totally rely on it and need to combine it with manualPost-editing (PE) in order to ensure the translation quality. This article is a translationpractice report about science and technology with the source text introducing the cloudservice and cloud security, and it demonstrates the MT/PE mode in translation work,analyzes the common mistakes made by machine translation, shows how to make aquick post-editing based on the standard of Non-Literary Translation by Li Changshuan,and discusses about the significance of this mode for translation in such areas in thefuture. MT/PE will surly become the trend in the translation industry and a necessaryskill for translators in the time of informationization.
