Translation Of Fuzzy Language From The Perspective Of Communicative Translation

Fuzzy language is an indispensable part in human language. Fuzzy language translation is inevitably included in language translation. Based on the theory of Communicative Translation, the present paper explores the translation of fuzzy language by means of example analysis.Translation of fuzzy language is based on the cognition of fuzzy language. The present paper starts with the analysis of fuzzy language from aspects of language form, language characteristic and language function. In translation process, the understanding of fuzzy language can improve the effect of language translation. The consideration of fuzzy language can facilitate the perfection of language translation study. During translation process, translators have to first understand the fuzzy language and fuzzy information of original texts then carry out translation output with the help of target fuzzy language. Based on the study of communicative functions of fuzzy language, the present paper analyzes the translatability of fuzzy language and various elements of translation from perspective of communicative translation theory. Based on the analysis of the characteristics of fuzzy language, the author thinks Peter Newmark’s communicative translation theory can be adopted to resolve problems of fuzzy language translation.In this paper, communicative translation is treated as a cover term which refers to the combination of Newmark’s communicative translation and semantic translation. Communicative translation theory focuses mainly on readers, stressing that translators should let readers of the translated text get the same effect as is obtained by readers of the original text. In the practice of fuzzy language translation, sometimes, source fuzzy language can be translated into corresponding target fuzzy language to obtain a relatively same effect. But this kind of translation is quite limited because of different cultural background, different language expression and different writing purposes of original writers. No matter which translation method is adopted:exchange between fuzzy language and precise language, amplification of fuzzy language and omission of fuzzy language, the specific translation should be based on the original text and effect of the translated text for readers. Fuzzy language translation should fully consider readers of the translated text.The present paper analyzes the methods of fuzzy language translation systematically; based on the analysis, further study on fuzzy language translation from perspective of communicative translation is carried out. The author thinks that fuzzy language translation could get improved if the characteristics of fuzzy language are understood better; fuzzy language translation could get improved if communicative translation is applied into fuzzy language translation.
