| The rapid growth of international trade promotes the widely use of new technologies in marketing. There are more and more companies enjoying the benefits brought by internet. Jining Angel Economic&Technical Cooperation Co., Ltd. is now trying to build its official English website which is basically translated from the Chinese one. In2013, the author got involved in the project of building of the official English website of Jining Angel Economic&Technical Cooperation Co., Ltd. and was in charge of6passages (12225words in total).This report is based on the translation practice completed in light of Reiss’s Text Typology. Chapter One is a basic introduction. Chapter Two is about translation preparations. It provides a brief analysis of the source text, introduces the guiding theory and the expectation of the project. Chapter Three discusses the problems met in the process of translation and solutions to the problems under the guidance of Text Typology. In translation of the informative parts of the source text, two problems are met, vagueness in translation and choice of tone in describing rules. Explication of information and rearrangement of words are adapted as solutions to the first problem, and shift of voice is adapted to solve the second problem. There are also two problems in the translation of operative parts; the first one is choice of angle, which can be solved by adaptation or the shift of angle; the second is difference in syntactic structures of two languages, and solutions to it are integration and division. Chapter Four concludes the report.It is notable that this report explores general skills that can be used in website C-E translation practice. Such attempt is of facilitating value to both the development of website C-E translation technology and the application of Text Typology. |
