This is a translation project report on website informations of Yunnan Junfa Real Estate. Itcontains two parts, one is from May7th,2008to September16th,2008while the other fromDecember5th,2007to December7th,2007.This report consists of4chapters:1) the background of this translation project whichincludes objectives and structure;2) the background of the research which includes the theoryused in the translation;3) the translation process which includes preparations, difficulties andtranslation methods related to text-typology, and4) the summary which includes implicationsand problems to be settled. The critical part of this translation project is Chapter3.During the translation project, my focus was on special vocabulary, long sentences,non-subject sentences, proper nouns, and a large number of Chinese typical four-character words.Besides, I translated them by adding words and phrases. With the guidance of text-typologytheory, I adopted different methods while translating the source language. In a word, no matterwhether it was informative, expressive or operative type, the translator must find the besttranslation strategy. With the translation practice, I come to realize that the differences in termsof languages and cultures requires a further classification of the text to be translated into morespecific genres from the microscopic perspective.
