A Practice Report Of The English-chinese Translation Of Art Introduction To ForeignLaneuase Learnine And Teaching (Chapter10)

An Introduction to Foreign Language Learning and Teaching is a book whichgives a comprehensive introduction to foreign language learning and teaching. Atpresent, its officially published Chinese version is still not found in China. Based on thetranslation of Chapter10, this report talks about the difficulties and their solutions underthe principle of the Functional Equivalence Theory. Besides, it analyzes the practicalexamples with some translation methods.This report consists of five parts. Chapter one describes the translation task briefly,including its content, features and translating situation. Chapter two mainly discussesthe whole translation process. Chapter three talks about the principle “Eugene A.Nina’s functional equivalence” and points out the three aspects in need of closeattention. Chapter four, as the major part, is devoted to the case analysis, in which thetranslator first discusses the difficulties and their solutions during the translation processand then summarizes four translation methods adopted in certain cases. Chapter fiveconcludes the report by sharing the experiences and inspirations gained by thetranslator.
