Following the translation principles for the context–focused text and taking intoconsideration the target readers’ acceptability, the translator has finished thetranslation of Section3of Part B in Translation Criticism——The Potentials＆Limitations, and Part5in Language and Culture.Based on the translating practice, the translating process has been summarized inthis paper, and some translation strategies and techniques have been put forwardaiming at the language features of the source text. The report consists of five parts.Chapter One is a description of the translation task in terms of nature, significanceand relevant practical theories applied in the translation. Chapter Two is anintroduction to the preparation before translation. Chapter Three is the analysis of thetranslation strategies and techniques with the typical word, phrase and sentenceexamples in the translation. Chapter Four is a discussion of final checking of thetranslation. Conclusion is a summary of the reporter’s reflections on the translationpractice.
