This is a translation report on the Chapter2of Everybody Wins, collaborated by PhilHarkins and Keith Hollihan. Phil Harkins is an expert in leadership training as well as theCEO of Linkage Company. His works are full of distinct gradation, logical deduction andpowerful appeals. This is a book about an inside look at Remax, one of the world’s mostsuccessful real estate companies. There are many anecdotes happening in the company as wellas some experiences and lessons coming from those stories which have much influence on thereal estate industry and other industries. In Chapter2, Harkins tells us how Remax wasfounded and how people come to Remax to pursue their dreams. Languages in this book arerich in form while the tense and voice are various that bring challenges to the translation.This report is based on the translation practice. Domestication as the main translationskills, the translator makes flexible use of various translation methods according to the“faithfulness, expressiveness and elegancy” theory for making the translation more close totarget language readers’ cultural general and reading habits. The translation project reportconsists of four parts: the first part is the translation project description which includes thebrief introduction of project background, the writer and this book itself. In the second part,translation process including the preparations, translation steps and reviewing are included.The third part focuses on the case analysis. Combining with the examples from the translationprocess, this part focuses on several methods and strategies in translation such as adding,word order adjusting. The fourth part summarizes the experiences and lessons gained by thetranslator and the insufficiencies that should be made up in the future.
