The Confucius Institute has played an important role in intercultural dissemination of Chinese culture, and it has become a world-renowned cultural postcard. Due to the current rapid development of Confucius Institutes overseas, has become worth of attention to study how to achieve social value and significance of Chinese culture spread world and building effective overseas cultural dissemination methods. This paper has taken the case of Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi in Kenya to analyze the Kenyan Chinese learners’understanding and their needs for Chinese culture. Comparing the successful experience of other language and culture promotion institutes in Kenya, the paper try to explore paths of direction and development for the Confucius Institute in Kenya and Africa in terms of promoting the intercultural dissemination of Chinese culture and a sustainable development of Confucius Institute. |
