"Ji Chun Tai" produced in the Late Qing period, is a collection of fine stories. It isalso the largest modern spoken material of Sichuan Mandarin ever discovered whosetwo language features must be mentioned which are the mingling of classical andvernacular language and the extensive use of colloquial dialect. The abundantlanguage materials of “Ji Chun Tai” provide a strong foundation for our furtherresearch of interrogative sentences of Sichuan dialect."Ji Chun Tai” is taken as a closed system to study. Started from the questionsmarks (including rhetorical question mark), this paper first has had an exhaustivestatistical quantitative qualitative analysis and careful generalization of the interrogativesentences in this collection, and then done synchronic and diachronic research to figureout the changes of the interrogative sentences of Sichuan dialect to reveal their roughdevelopment rules. Specifically speaking, the text is divided into five parts. The first part is a general introduction of "Ji Chun Tai" such as the content, the language features, the version, the collation, the study background, and theclassification criteria of interrogative sentences and the study purpose, significance andso on.Part two is a study of the inquiry Sentences which are yes-no interrogation, specific interrogation, alternative interrogation and positive and negative alternativeinterrogation. According to the standard of the special question, the enquiry sentencesare divided into ones with special question mark and ones without special question mark. The author stepped from questions marks, focusing on the analysis of pragmatic, semantic and syntactic features of various types of sentences. The third part is the study of rhetorical questions in "Ji Chun Tai" being nearly halfof the interrogative sentences and the largest share of them. From the point ofexpression, it can be classified into enquiry questions and rhetorical questions. Theresearch methods are same as the inquiry sentences. The fourth chapter is a comparative study of interrogative sentences. The Synchronic comparison of interrogative sentences the between the dialect in thecollection and "West Sichuan Dialect" and diachronic comparison between the ones inthe text and the modern Sichuan dialect are launched respectively to map the development of Sichuan dialect from the age of "Ji Chun Tai" to modern Sichuandialect. The last part is to conclude the exhaustive analysis and induction of theinterrogative sentences in "Ji Chun Tai".
