Accompany with China’s development,Chinese culture arousesinterests of the whole world.As a result,more and more foreigners areattracted to learn Chinese.After the investigation,we found there are manydifficulties when foreign learners study Chinese,such as: Chinesegrammar,Chinese tone,Chinese character and so on.Among them,Chinese character is considered difficult to recognize, to read, to memoryand to write,which are called“four difficulties”.So,how to improve theteaching methods of Chinese character is becoming an urgent andimportant issue to us.The paper mainly intends to explore the teaching method of Chinesecharacter to foreign learners based on Liushu theory and pronunciation.According to Liushu theory,Chinese character can be divided to picturecharacter and phonogram. Phonogram is the focus of this paper for itsphonetic feature.For the students from the phonetic languagecountries,phonogram can be learned quickly by practice.What’s more,thefrequency of a Chinese character appears is a significant factor to learnerson the basis of cognitive psychology. Based on the fact that Chinese character is bound of vowels and musical sound, and foreign learners’habit that they are apt to seek a word’s meaning from its pronunciation,this paper intends to carry out Chinese character teaching by sing simpleor compound vowel repeatedly.The first chapter focuses on why foreign learners feel Chinesecharacter hard. The paper attempts to analyse the reasons from Chinesecharacter’s difficulties itself,foreign learners’recognise feature, teacher’steaching method issue and so on.Chapter two focuses on the application of Liushu theory, that is,pictophonetic character teaching method,phonogram teaching method andso on.Chapter three mainly focuses on the teaching method from theaspect of frequency,which is considered as a vital factor.The teachingmethods such as song, rhyme, ancient poem and so on will be involved.The last chapter is summary.
